The Chapel is a new and beautifully characterful place to stay on the Cissbury Estate, currently being transformed into a light-filled, intimate retreat for couples and their guests. With its unique architecture, high ceilings and elevated setting looking out towards Cissbury Ring, it’s being designed as a place that feels quietly special - a little different, a little more romantic, and full of atmosphere.

Opening in early 2026, The Chapel will offer a relaxed, contemporary take on its historic shell, with a flowing living space below and a mezzanine bedroom above, creating a space that feels both open and private. It’s perfect for couples looking for something with character, whether as a wedding-night hideaway or a peaceful place to stay on the estate.

With a super king bed on the mezzanine level and a sofa bed in the sitting area below, The Chapel is ideal for couples or a small group of close friends and family. With free private parking.

The main living space combines a comfortable sitting area and dining space beneath high ceilings, TV and WiFi throughout, with light streaming in through windows on two sides.

Mezzanine bedroom
Upstairs, the super king bedroom offers a peaceful, elevated place to sleep, tucked into the architecture of the original chapel.

Kitchen and bathrooms
A compact galley kitchen makes it easy to prepare simple meals and drinks. While the wet room, with shower and basin, and separate WC keep things practical and comfortable.

Step outside to a private seating area with views towards Cissbury Ring - perfect for morning coffee, evening drinks or a quiet moment to yourselves.

The Chapel is being designed as a light-filled retreat - a place where country character meets a softer, more contemporary style. Drawing on the same rich colours, layered textures and playful patterns as The Lodge, the interiors will feel warm, welcoming and quietly luxurious.

Velvet seating, statement fabrics and gentle lighting will sit alongside the clean lines and open height of the space, creating rooms that feel both intimate and uplifting. It’s a place to slow down, enjoy the stillness of the estate and take in the views across to Cissbury Ring.
